Iconic Lebanese-Mexican star Salma Hayek Pinault has been serving sartorial inspiration since she came into the spotlight years ago, moving to Hollywood after her telenovelas amassed several onlookers. Hayek Pinault soon became a favorite in the industry, due to her talent and striking features, paired with her bold style.
Over the years, Hayek Pinault has been seen donning several ensembles that have made her a topic of conversation. Back in the day, the star loved her bombshell bodycon dresses — from the scarlet pick she wore for the Desperado premiere in 1995, to the cut-out LBD worn at the 1996 MTV Movie Awards, and of course, the much-talked-about strapless number she wore with colorful butterfly tattoos all over her body at the 1997 MTV Music Video Awards. Regarding the look she shares, “I didn’t have access to a lot of designers. They didn’t want to dress me, so I had to be creative and find something last minute.” Adding, “I had no one to lend me jewels at the time, so I decided to make my accessories with butterfly tattoos. And, it really worked and people loved it because at the time it was not very popular. I have really good memories of that look because of all the creativity that went into it.”

Other noteworthy looks in Hayek’s roster from the 90s include the shimmering white look she wore at the 69th Annual Academy Awards, and of course, her daring black Versace asymmetric cut dress. The actress also wore several colorful looks on red carpets, including a pink corset number with embroidered motifs from the 1999 Wild Wild West movie premier. Additionally, Hayek’s outfit from the 2000 72nd Annual Academy Award showcase a much more softer look, where she wore a lilac embellished satin dress, and tulle scarf around her arms.

Over the years, Salma Hayek’s style has incurred a transition to more bolder looks, which often include bright, shimmery, and sequined ensembles. Hayek Pinault has also been ahead of the curve with her love for the currently trending cheetah print. And among brands, the icon seems to love the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci — she is, after all, married to Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault — and has worn several looks by the renowned brand time and time again.
