The tech guru making Jennifer Aniston smile again

Jennifer Aniston is on the lookout for love again and this time, she’s entering unknown territory – the world of online dating. After previously saying she wanted to stick to “the normal ways of dating”, we’re told the 55-year-old has realised that apps could be the way to go. And she’s enlisted the help of a tech guru to help her navigate this new world.

An insider close to the star tells heat, “Jen’s said she’s thinking about dipping her toe into the online world of dating and possibly setting up a profile on [exclusive celeb app] Raya. Some of her friends are on there already, and when she’s with them, they’ll scroll through the guys together. She’s seen some she’d like to match with.”

Jen – who was married to Brad Pittbetween 2000 and 2005, and Justin Theroux between 2015 and 2018 – has been largely single ever since and, we’re told, her friends are relieved that she’s now considering giving modern dating a go. “No one quite believes she’ll go through with it, but just to hear that she’s considering it is a massive switch from her previous stance,” the source says.

Jen’s new-found interest in swiping right comes as a surprise to her Hollywood pals, given that she’s publicly renounced social media in the past saying it “sucks you in and wastes hours of your life”. However, our source says she now has a sneaky soft spot for social media and even has “burner accounts” on TikTok and Instagram, so she can lurk online without people knowing.

“It’s come as quite a shock to her friends that she’s gotten addicted to social media because she’s always going on about how much she avoids it,” we’re told.

Secret soft spot or not, the insider adds that Jen is still a bit of a digi-novice and may need a helping hand to set up a dating profile. Having set up an official Instagram profile in 2019 – crashing the app in the process – the actress now has over 45million followers. But, we’re told, she leaves the running of that account to her social media managers. So, if Jen does set up a dating profile, she will want one of them to take the reins.

“Jen already has several people who handle Instagram, and one of them could easily help her with Raya,” our insider says.

“If you’d asked Jen even a year ago if she wanted to go on it, she would have said absolutely not. It wasn’t even an option for her, but now seen there are people on there who are just as famous as her it’s not really an excuse any more.”
