The Morning Show Season 3 Trailer: Reese Witherspoon & Jennifer Aniston Go Head-To-Head (Again)

The Morning Show season 3's new trailer teases the return of the rivalry between the characters played by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. The series, which premiered on Apple TV+ in 2019, follows the behind-the-scenes drama at a morning show filmed in Manhattan. Aniston stars as Alex Levy, an anchor whose job is put into peril when her co-anchor Mitch (Steve Carell) is fired following sexual misconduct allegations and is replaced by the hot-headed Bradley Jackson, played by Witherspoon.

Apple TV has shared the official trailer for The Morning Show season 3. Check it out below:

We were supposed to change things, weren’t we?” asks Bradley in the voiceover introduction to the trailer during a tense, silent standoff between the pair. As the main characters all contemplate the unclear future that they're facing, Jon Hamm's new character Paul Marks is introduced as a "lifeline" but may prove to be the thing that tears Bradley and Alex apart for good.

Jon Hamm's New Character In The Morning Show Explained

Jon Hamm as Paul Marks in The Morning Show Season 3

So far, little has been revealed about the nature of Hamm's character. However, Marks has been officially described as a "corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA." His wealth and power are certainly implied by his initial arrival via helicopter, but how much he'll seek to change the titular morning show remains to be seen.

From this trailer, however, it seems that he will be the linchpin of the interpersonal drama of the new season. A shot of Marks surreptitiously getting in the car with Alex could imply a potential romantic tryst behind the scenes. The final sequence of the trailer also implies as much, as it seems to be a segment of a conversation where Bradley is either threatening Alex or warning her that news of her actions is about to break.

So far, the drama series seems to have a less ripped-from-the-headlines approach this season. The Morning Show season 2 followed the COVID-19 pandemic after season 1 was centered on #MeToo, but this season seems keen on returning to the character dynamic between Alex and Bradley that fueled the first season more than anything else. Marks seems to be an excellent, possibly unpredictable, figure to sharpen their rivalry back into a deadly point.
