Kevin Hart keeps winning. His latest Netflix project, 72 Hours, is assembling a cast with some notable names. Rising star Mason Gooding and multi-hyphenate entertainer Teyana Taylor are officially set to join the wild ride alongside Severance actor Zach Cherry.
Get this, also joining the film are Ben Marshall and Kam Patterson, with Patterson stepping into his very first feature film role. The movie is being helmed by Tim Story, who has worked closely with Hart on multiple past projects, bringing that familiar comedic chemistry back to the screen.
72 Hours centers on Hart’s character: a forty-something corporate executive whose career is hanging by a thread. In a last-ditch effort to revive his reputation, he finds himself thrown into a three-day bachelor party after accidentally getting looped into a group text with a squad of twenty-somethings.
While many roles are still under wraps, Variety confirmed that Marcello Hernández of Saturday Night Live fame will portray the best man and unofficial ringleader of the bachelor party madness. Mason Gooding will take on the role of the groom whose big weekend sets the tone for what’s expected to be pure chaos.
Filming is currently underway in Miami, one of the top destinations for unforgettable bachelor weekends and the perfect backdrop for the film’s high-energy antics.
When it comes to the screenplay, it was penned by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows alongside Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. Hurwitz Schlossberg and Josh Heald are producing through Counterbalance Entertainment, along with John Davis of Davis Entertainment and Kevin Hart himself through his Hartbeat banner. Luke Kelly Cline and Bryan Smiley are also producing with Tim Story producing under The Story Company.
Executive producers include John Fox and Jeremy Stein for Davis Entertainment, Dina Hiller for Counterbalance, Vicky Mara Story for The Story Company, and Kayla Stamps for Hartbeat.
