Jennifer Aniston Shows Off ‘The Rachel’ Haircut in New Instagram Post
Every year around this time, I consider changing my hair. Bangs are always an option, but they usually end in regret. There’s also the baroque bob haircut, which only fuels my indecisiveness. Thankfully, Jennifer Aniston just gave me the throwback hair inspiration I’ve been looking for.
This week, the Morning Show star, 55, celebrated the birthday of her longtime hairstylist, Chris McMillan. Aniston shared an Instagram slideshow that features never-before-seen photos from her camera roll, including a throwback picture of “The Rachel” haircut.
The first photo offers a side view of the famous cut, which was popularized by Aniston’s character, Rachel Green, on the beloved sitcom Friends. The trendy ’90s hairstyle features a shoulder-length cut with short layers in the front to frame the face. To give it that signature Friends look, style it with a voluminous top and flipped-in ends.
Aniston first debuted the hairstyle in season one of Friends. The episode, titled “The One With the Evil Orthodontist,” aired in 1995 and jumpstarted the public’s obsession with the character’s now-signature style.
This isn’t the first time that Aniston has paid tribute to the iconic hairstyle. Back in January, the actress debuted a modern version of the iconic ‘do at the 2024 Golden Globes. The Morning Show star wore a black custom-made gown from Dolce and Gabbana. For her hair, Aniston rocked a sleek, shorter lob (aka a long bob) that framed her face perfectly—just like “The Rachel.”
