Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston are proving that working with your best friend makes everything better.
Several weeks back, on November 22, Witherspoon, 48, shared a heartwarming behind-the-scenes clip from the set of The Morning Show, where she’s currently filming season 4 with her longtime pal Aniston, 55. The video shows the two sitting at the show's news desk matching each other’s poses and having fun together on the production lot complete with blowing kisses and waving while cruising around in a golf cart.
“Work just hits different with your bff,” Witherspoon captioned the clip, while the accompanying audio in the clip really captured the essence of their friendship, with the narrator saying, “There’s no greater gift in the world than having a coworker you can truly call one of your best friends… because it makes your day so much better. You’re like, 'I can’t wait to see that person.'"
Naturally, the comments section absolutely exploded with love for Witherspoon and Aniston (I mean what's not to love) but I was surprised by just how much fans adore these two and the Apple TV+ show.
“Ohhh I love this friendship so much,” one person gushed. Another playfully added, “Still the green sisters for me! lol I kid,” referencing their roles on Friends. A third comment read, “Two of my favorite actors,” while another said, “Wow, two beautiful actresses, it's wonderful.” And of course, someone else couldn’t help but say, “Love this and the show!”
Fans of The Morning Show know the pair’s on-screen chemistry is undeniable. Aniston stars as Alex Levy, the ambitious anchor, while Witherspoon plays Bradley Jackson, her fierce co-anchor. But before they were co-stars on the hit series, their bond was already well established.
They first crossed paths back in the '90s when Witherspoon guest-starred on Friends as Rachel’s younger sister, Jill. Witherspoon fondly recalled their first meeting in a 2019 interview with Harper's Bazaar, sharing that she was nursing her daughter Ava on set, and Aniston was amazed, saying, “You have a baby?” Witherspoon recalled, “She was so sweet to me… We’ve been friends ever since.”
As Aniston shared in a December 2023 Variety interview, their friendship is rock solid after more than two decades. “We’ve been in each other’s lives for 20-something years,” she said. “It’s just in our DNA that we are collaborators, partners, friends, and we share all sorts of heartbreaks in life and love.”
It's clear this dynamic duo is not only winning hearts on-screen but off-screen too.
