Pregnant Jennifer Lawrence Reunites With ‘Hunger Games’ Costar Woody Harrelson in Rare Photos

Katniss Everdeen and Haymitch Abernathy didn't always get along well in The Hunger Games, but apparently the actors who played them are pals in the real world. Woody Harrelson, who played Haymitch in the popular franchise, joined Jennifer Lawrence, who played Katniss, for a stroll in New York City on Monday, February 24.

In photos captured by The Daily Mail, the 34-year-old Oscar winner and the 63-year-old Cheers icon could be seen bundled up against the winter chill. Lawrence is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, and she rested her hand on her baby bump while walking arm in arm with Harrelson.

The True Detective actor wore a gray hoodie, a red baseball cap, and a long purple scarf. Lawrence's face was barely visible under her gold-rimmed sunglasses and black beanie. She sported a long black trench coat and thick knitted scarf.

Fans of The Hunger Games were delighted to see the two castmates together. An Instagram fanpage for the series picked up the photos, and posted them with the caption, "Jennifer Lawrence and Woody Harrelson were spotted strolling through NYC together – just a couple of District 12 legends out in the wild! 🏹🔥 I love seeing these two reunite."

One commenter agreed that their continued friendship, despite the nearly 30-year age difference, was charming. "i love that they're so close irl. haymitch and katniss forever." Another fan had their own theory on how Harrelson factored into Lawrence's life. "He's prolly such a good uncle to her kiddos 🥹," they wrote.

One Instagram user theorized that they might be discussing the new prequel novel, which focuses on the younger days of Harrelson's character, Haymitch, when he won the titular games. "I bet they got early copies of Sunrise on the Reaping and they had to have a little book club about it," wrote the fan.
