The latest details of soap alum Mark Consuelos’ onscreen chemistry with Jennifer Aniston were unveiled during a recent episode of LIVE! With Kelly and Mark. Friends star David Schwimmer discussed what went down.
Friends Throwback
It’s throwback Thursday with a blast from the past. PEOPLE reported that Schwimmer was a guest on LIVE! to talk about his new series, Goosebumps: The Vanishing. Of course, the conversation quickly shifted to Friends. Ripa recalled the time when Consuelos had a cameo on the hit NBC sitcom.
He became good friends with Schwimmer, but that’s not the only thing that happened. Consuelos also had sizzling onscreen chemistry with Jennifer Aniston. He appeared on the 2001 episode “The One With Chandler’s Dad.” He played the role of a police officer who pulled over Ross (Schwimmer) and Rachel (Aniston).
Consuelos played the clip of that scene. His character flirted with Rachel and complimented her “great” driver’s license photo. Ross didn’t appreciate their little interaction. Ross sat in the back of the cop car, glaring at the two. Once the clip ended, the camera panned back to Consuelos and Ripa.
The real-life couple took it in stride. They had a good laugh from that scene. Schwimmer said, “Oh my God.” He clapped because he couldn’t believe the chemistry between Consuelos and Aniston. “The sexual chemistry between you two was palpable in that scene,” Ripa joked.

By that point, Consuelos had already found his leading lady. He met Ripa on the set of All My Children in 1996. The couple married just a year later. Soap fans still gush over them and their AMC characters Hayley and Mateo to this day. (Check out their adorable tour of their NYC pad.)
