The trailer for Magic Mike's Last Dance has finally arrived. The title will be the third film to follow Channing Tatum's Mike Lane, a stripper who dreams of owning his own business who was originally introduced in 2012's Magic Mike. After stepping back from the 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXl, which he shot but did not direct, original director Steven Soderbergh has returned to helm the new film, which is due in theaters on February 10, 2023.
Today, Warner Bros. dropped the official first trailer for Magic Mike's Last Dance, revealing a closer look at the anticipated sequel. Along with sharing more plot details, the trailer brings to life a moment where Tatum dances for Salma Hayek, which previously was only shared as a first-look image. In addition to providing a reversal of Salma Hayek’s famous striptease scene from 1996’s From Dusk Till Dawn, the trailer reveals that the dance is just a prelude to a sweeping romance that could potentially change MIke’s life forever. Everything The Magic Mike 3 Trailer Reveals About Last Dance
The trailer for Magic Mike's Last Dance proves that Mike's storyline will be more complicated than those expecting a simple dance movie, just like it was in the original Magic Mike. The film will follow him to London, where Hayek's character encourages him to put his talents to use on the grandest stage yet, making him something of a fish out of water. It seems that Hayek will also show off her own dance moves during the film, though it's not clear exactly to what degree she will be involved in the finished stage production.
The trailer also teases that one of the major characters in the film will be the daughter of Hayek's character. She is also dealing with her own romantic entanglements that mirror the complications of Mike's love life. It seems that both of them will be faced with the ultimate test of whether it is more important to have love or money in one's life as they strive to find a path toward having both. The clip also reveals more about the ensemble cast, which includes We Are Lady Parts' Juliette Motamed, Johnny English Strikes Again's Vicki Pepperdine, and Ackley Bridge's Ayub Khan Din.
There will be a cameo from Kim (Caitlin Gerard), who Mike stripped for in the original film. However, something that is conspicuously missing in the Magic Mike's Last Dance trailer is the ensemble of other dancers that were featured in the previous two films (except for Magic Mike's Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer, neither of whom returned for XXL). While it seems that Mike can be seen talking to one of them over the phone, meaning there may be a cameo or two, the dancers played by Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, and more, will likely not be featured prominently.
