Jennifer Lopez admits she and Ben Affleck still ‘have PTSD’ from their first romance

Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she and her Hollywood actor husband Ben Affleck still "have PTSD" from their first romance.

The much-loved couple first began dating in 2002, with them getting engaged for the first time that same year, with their romance hitting headlines leading to them becoming a power couple of sorts. They then postponed their wedding in September 2003 and officially split in January 2004.

Reuniting, rekindling and then going totally Instagram official on JLo's 52nd birthday in 2021, the love birds were engaged for a second and final time by April 2022. Then, last summer the couple got married not once, but twice, with them first eloping in Las Vegas before going all out for a white-themed wedding ceremony at Ben's Georgia home one month later.

And now JLo has spoken out about how she and her husband have got "PTSD" from their first romance in the noughties, all while speaking out about her upcoming album This Is Me… Now, which will see the couple's romance documented.

Speaking to Variety, JLo said "we both have PTSD" which was caused by the media scrutiny the couple endured back when they first dated in the noughties. She added: "But we’re older now. We’re wiser. We also know what’s important, what’s really important in life, and it’s not so much what other people think. It’s about being true to who you are."

The hitmaker will drop her new album, which is titled This Is Me… Now, on February 16. The album will mark 20 years her 2004 album This Is Me… Then came out. Alongside the new album will be a companion short film.

This comes shortly after JLo and Ben threw a star-studded Christmas bash at their stunning family home in LA last weekend. Stars who joined the festivities included the likes of Creed actor Michael B. Jordan and Barbie actress Margot Robbie.

Other friends and family members in attendance were Casey Affleck, Jennifer Lewis, Lily Rabe and Jennifer's longtime manager Benny Medina. A source told People magazine: "They threw a really fun party."
