Jennifer Aniston is reportedly ready to say goodbye to Los Angeles after a terrifying stalker incident left her deeply shaken. The beloved Friends star is looking to retreat from the Hollywood bubble following a frightening encounter at her Bel-Air mansion earlier this month that made her reevaluate her sense of safety.
According to RadarOnline.com, the ordeal unfolded on May 5, when 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle allegedly rammed his vehicle through the secure gates of Aniston's sprawling estate while she was home.
RadarOnline.com sources say the intruder was immediately confronted and detained at gunpoint by her personal security team until police arrived. Carwyle was later arrested and booked on charges of felony vandalism. He remains in custody without bond.
While the immediate threat has been contained, those close to Aniston say the emotional toll of the incident has lingered.
"She loves her house in Bel-Air, but she's been living alone a long time, and this incident tipped her over the edge," an insider noted. "She feels the whole city is dangerous and depressing and that she's too isolated and needs to get out."
Montecito home nearly ready as Aniston contemplates relocation
Aniston is now actively considering relocating-at least part-time-to Montecito, California, a picturesque and celebrity-rich town along the coast that's already home to famous friends like Gwyneth Paltrow, Orlando Bloom, Cameron Diaz, and Rob Lowe.
The Emmy-winning actress actually purchased an estate in Montecito back in September 2022 for $14.8 million, and, according to insiders, renovations on the property are nearly complete.
"The home she's building there is almost finished, so there's nothing to stop her from moving right now if she wanted to-plus she has friends there," the insider explained.
But Montecito isn't her only option. Sources also revealed that Aniston is exploring the idea of buying a property in upstate New York.
"She's also not opposed to buying a property in upstate New York, where Michelle Williams has a farmhouse," said the source, pointing to her growing desire for a quieter, more secluded lifestyle away from the high-stakes spotlight of L.A.
Beyond the recent stalking incident, emotional triggers also appear to be fueling her desire to relocate. July marks the 25th anniversary of her wedding to Brad Pitt-an event that still holds emotional weight for the Morning Show star.
"Every anniversary is like a knife to the heart, but this one will be worse because it will be the silver anniversary," the source shared.
