Jennifer Aniston’s alleged stalker ordered to stay 100 yards away from her, undergo mental competency testing

Jennifer Aniston's suspected stalker, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, was ordered by a Los Angeles County judge to stay at least 100 yards away from the actress during a court appearance Thursday.

Carwyle, 48, appeared shirtless and wrapped in a blanket when he appeared behind glass in a custody area of a Los Angeles courtroom. The Mississippi man did not enter a plea or speak at all.

Aniston’s suspected stalker was not granted bail at the preliminary hearing, and was ordered to go through mental-health court to determine whether he is competent to face felony stalking and vandalism charges.

Carwyle began sending the "Friends" star unwanted social media, voicemail and email messages in March 2023, according to prosecutors.

Judge Keith L. Schwartz doubted whether Carwyle would understand him when a prosecutor requested that the defendant, who will remain in jail, be ordered not to get near Aniston.

Carwyle's lawyer, Deputy Public Defender Toral Malik, said, "I don’t believe him staying away from Ms. Aniston will be an issue at this time."

But at a prosecutors' insistence, Schwartz issued the order anyway.

The Los Angeles judge said, "You are not to have any contact with Jennifer Aniston under any conditions."

Aniston’s alleged stalker claimed on social media that he and the Hollywood actress were married, but corruption kept them apart, according to NBC.

He’s reportedly been living out of his PT Cruiser in a Walmart parking lot in Los Angeles for several months.

Fox News has learned that Carwyle is an auto mechanic. His friends have expressed concern that he’s having a "mental breakdown."

Carwyle was arrested for felony vandalism after he allegedly crashed into Aniston's gate Monday.

"Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities," Hochman said in a statement. "My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable."

Carwyle was charged with one count of felony stalking and one count of felony vandalism with an aggravating circumstance of the threat of great bodily harm.

Aniston's private security detained Carwyle until Los Angeles Police officers arrested him Monday.

He is accused of "repeatedly harassing" the "Friends" star with unwanted social media, email and phone messages, starting in March until the day of the crash, according to the DA's office.

His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, where prosecutors will request his bail be set at $150,000, the DA's office said.

"I want to thank law enforcement and our Stalking and Threat Assessment Team, particularly Deputy District Attorney Sam Hulefeld, for their outstanding work in this case," Hochman added. "By working together, we are ensuring that dangerous individuals are taken off our streets."

If convicted, Carwyle could face three years in prison.
