Jennifer Aniston’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, was released this Tuesday. She’s also been working on The Morning Show season four so there hasn’t been an extensive press tour, at least not yet. Last night, though, she was on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a familiar spot for her as she and Jimmy and his wife Molly are good friends.
The interview opens on gossip, as Jimmy engages Jen in her favourite activity – criticising tabloids and their bullsh-t. Which I appreciate because they end up talking about a rumour I’d not heard of until I watched the show: that Jen is trying to homewreck Barack and Michelle Obama, WTF. And they actually put this on the f-cking cover?!
Dumping on In Touch Weekly is also my favourite activity so I’m grateful to Jen for the opportunity. They were lucky when they pulled the Bennifer divorce out of their asses earlier this year but this Jen and Obama cover is the In Touch standard, so it drives me crazy when I get emails and DMs from people wondering whether or not a story they saw in In Touch is legit.
Anyway Jen and Jimmy go on to address some of the other stories that have come out about her – the ones that are true aren’t all that interesting and all of that was just the setup for the true star to make his appearance. Clydeo, the book, was inspired by Jen’s dog, Clyde, and Clyde ends up joining her onstage. Look at this very good boy!
He really was a good boy. Clyde came out tail wagging, very eager for treats, jumped up nicely on the chair beside Jen, and most importantly, because this is television, he stayed quiet. My two hooligans would have been shouting the whole time and trying to pull away. Clyde, though, understood the assignment: be cute, cooperate, and sell some books. It makes up for his yawning from a few days ago when Jen was reading to him and his homies and he couldn’t hide his disinterest. Clyde clearly comes through in a bigger spotlight.
