The Today show is always a flippin’ good time! Jenna Bush Hager was joined by guest cohost Tiffany Haddish during an episode of Today With Jenna & Friends on Thursday, April 24, and certainly nobody expected for a table to fall over.
During the episode, Jenna, 43, was busy introducing Tiffany, 45, to viewers when the actress accidentally bumped into a small table that was on stage next to the big table that the cohosts sit at.
“Grammy winner, what else are you?” the former first daughter asked before the table went crashing to the ground.
“Clumsy, I’m clumsy!” she said with laughter. “That’s what I definitely am.”
Jenna assured Tiffany that the table was put “in the wrong place.”
“Yes, who put this table here?! Out of my sight?” the Girls Trip actress quipped.
“That’s the first time furniture has ever fallen over,” Jenna told her.
Despite the little blip, Tiffany has been having a blast getting to live the talk show host lifestyle as a guest cohost.
“I had so much fun yesterday. I love being here with you,” she said.
Jenna also seems to be vibing with Tiffany, one of the many celebrity guest cohosts who has appeared on the show since Hoda Kotb’s departure.
“We’re friends, as far as I’m concerned. You’re my bestie. See, and that’s why we should work together all the time, network executives,” she said.
So far, it has not yet been revealed who will ultimately snag the permanent cohosting position next to Jenna. An insider previously told Closer that the Sisters First author enjoyed cohosting the show with celebrity guest Scarlett Johansson.
“They had a wonderful time getting to know each other, there was no awkwardness on or off camera that anyone could see,” the insider said in February. “Jenna was a gracious host, and equally impressed at how down-to-earth Scarlett was. Nothing phony or too ‘Hollywood’ about her. People thought Jenna might be intimidated but she wasn’t.”
From their fun on camera moments and candid conversations about parenthood to getting their ears pierced on stage together, Jenna and Scarlett, 40, definitely had chemistry.
“On the show, Jenna let Scarlett speak as long as she wanted and didn’t cut in as she was prone to do with Hoda,” the insider added. “They had a blast comparing mommy notes and bonded over kids and their love of beer and are making plans to keep in touch and meet up for a pint or two in the near future.”
Viewers also took a liking to seeing Scarlett in the talk show cohosting role earlier this year.
“Scarlett has been my MOST favorite ‘friend’ so far,” one viewer wrote on social media. “She’s the most natural and seems the least forced. Last week was a little chaotic and I can’t remember who the cohost was but someone got shushed. It was too much.”
Another said, “Jenna & Scarlet should be a thing. You’re both awesome together and it looks like you need each other. I hope it works out if that is what’s to be.”
