Isla Fisher's famous "besties" are said to be supporting her after it was announced that she and Sacha Baron Cohen had split.
The actress took to Instagram to share that she and her husband had split after 13 years of marriage but initially kept the news to themselves. In the days since their announcement, Isla has been seen in London while Sacha has been spending time in New York.
But now sources claim that Friends legends Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are on hand to support their friend as she navigates the challenging time. "Courteney and Jen were two of the first friends she opened up to over a year ago when the marriage started crumbling," a source told Closer magazine.
They went on to say: "Admitting how unhappy she was and turning to them for guidance and support at a time when she was at her lowest after recently losing her beloved father. Having gone through painful divorces and being two of her oldest and dearest friends, Courteney and Jen were there for her through the very painful process.
"They guided her through her lowest moments and gently helped her come to the painful realisation that it was best to end the relationship rather than hang onto it only to be unhappy for the sake of their children." Two weeks ago, Isla broke the bombshell news of their quiet breakup. She revealed in an accompanying statement that their marriage had come to an end – explaining that they had split at an undisclosed time last year and that they will continue to co-parent their three children.
The Wolf Like Me said: "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our rackets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change." She then asked her fans for privacy and added: "We forever share in our devotion and love for our children.
"We sincerely appreciate our family’s wishes for privacy." Not long after, Sacha shared the exact same image and statement via his own Instagram Stories account. The news was a huge shock to many of their fans and they rushed to social media to share their disbelief over the split. One person commented on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Sad to hear about Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher. Relationships can be challenging, but I hope they both find peace and happiness moving forward."
While another remarked, in a more humorous line: "Liza Minnelli has outlived Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher's marriage. They are divorcing after many years together."
