These joint sightings may surprise fans considering reports spread in December that the two split—with the news coming weeks after they announced Megan’s pregnancy. But the Subservience alum isn't in a rush to define their relationship.
"I think what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is it’s not for public consumption," she explained on a March 2024 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. "So I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship perse. What I can say is that is what I refer to as being my twin soul, and there will always be a tether to him no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain.”
However, Megan was willing to admit that she and MGK did at one point call off their engagement after he'd proposed the year prior—adding she could see these things "being confusing or interesting to people." But later in 2023, the two were once again spotted hand in hand.
While Machine Gun Kelly—who is also dad to 15-year-old daughter Casie from his previous relationship with Emma Cannon—and Megan have remained tight-lipped about where they stand with each other, she has shed some light on how her older children Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8 (whose dad is her ex-husband Brian Austin Green) feel about their new sibling.
"The kids are all super excited for another addition to the family," the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress told People in December ahead of the baby’s arrival, "and have promised to help out and pitch in."
And Brian—who also shares 2-year-old son Zane with his fiancée, former Dancing With the Stars pro Sharna Burgess, as well as 23-year-old son Kassius with ex Vanessa Marcil—has expressed how he's thrilled for Megan too.
"The kids are incredibly excited, Sharna's excited. We're excited for Zane to spend time with the baby," the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum added to People in February. "We're excited to all come together and bond over it. It's an amazing time."
However, he didn’t show the same level of enthusiasm for Machine Gun Kelly after hearing news of MGK and Megan’s split, calling him out in the press and on social media. Still, Brian has promised to now bite his tongue on the subject instead of speaking to outlets.
"That's not something that I normally do, but it just really at the time, really got under my skin to read about his sort of take on it,” he told People in February. "So I spoke my mind, but then I’ve since come to terms with the fact that I won’t do that anymore.”
And make no mistake: Megan is perfectly content being on her own—and she hopes singles feel the same.
“My advice is just learn a skill or develop a hobby and do not waste your energy on boys,” she told E!’s The Rundown at Coachella in 2024 when asked about summer goals. "All they’re gonna do is drain you. Just move on. Invest in yourself."
As for what’s next for Megan, it appears she’ll be navigating that journey out of the public eye.
"I’m either really gonna have some kind of breakthrough where I do transcend into some blissful higher level of consciousness or find some kind of purpose being in service to people or I will disappear again," she said on the March 2024 episode of Call Her Daddy, referencing how she stepped back from the spotlight in 2009. "I feel like I handled that wrong the first time though, and I regret some of those years that I lost. So I don’t think I’ll repeat that. However, I am on the precipice of what am I about to do and I don’t know."
And considering she’s experienced the not-so-kind side of the internet before, perhaps it’s understandable she might not want to share every aspect of her life with the world.
“There’s this energy of me that I don’t give any f–ks," she added on Alex Cooper’s podcast. “And to some degree that’s true in terms of I would never change anything about myself in order to get someone to like me. So in that way, I don’t give any f–ks. That doesn’t mean that I don’t get my feelings hurt and that when I’m being bullied or dragged that that doesn’t cause me to be mentally unwell sometimes because it absolutely does and did."
For now, she’s leaning all the way into new mom life. To see how she and MGK got to this point, relive their fiery journey from the beginning.
