Matthew, who famously played Chandler Bing in the hit NBC sitcom, died suddenly at age 54 after overdosing on ketamine and drowning in a hot tub at his home. Before he died, he’d been open about his struggles with substance and alcohol addiction.
Earlier this year, in August, five people were charged in connection to Matthew’s death — two of whom were doctors.
Matthew’s Friends costars have paid tribute to the star since his death, and now, a year later, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have shared touching new posts.

Jennifer, who played Rachel Green in the series, previously referred to Matthew as her “little brother” when the news of his death first broke. Earlier this year, she broke down in tears during an interview with Quinta Brunson when the subject of rewatching Friends came up.

This week, Jen shared a series of photos with Matthew on her Instagram page. “1 year ❤️🩹🕊️,” she wrote as she linked out to the Matthew Perry Foundation, a charity “guided by” Matthew’s passion to help people dealing with addiction.

Courteney, who played Matthew’s onscreen love interest Monica Geller, also shared a couple of photos with the late actor on her Instagram page.

Friends fans have been left emotional by the touching posts from Jen and Courteney.
“Forever in our hearts,” one comment read. “I’ve been watching the show today on repeat, just remembering his brilliance,” someone else said.
“We all fell in love with Chandler at the end of ‘Friends.’ He remained a treasure,” another user wrote, while one more added, “will miss him forever.”
