Ben Affleck Is Reportedly Concerned This Aspect of Jennifer Lopez’s Fame Could Derail Their Romance

It seems as though Jennifer Lopez’s new movie This Is Me…Now, all about her love life and eventual romance with husband Ben Affleck, has caused a bit of a wedge between the lovebirds. While it’s no secret that Lopez enjoys the spotlight, we’ve seen how uncomfortable Affleck is in the same vein, and with this new project putting their romance at the forefront, that difference has allegedly started to cause problems.

While insiders have previously claimed that Affleck was worried about his own reputation after this film, it seems that now he’s worried about Lopez’s ongoing projects. Insiders recently claimed that Affleck isn’t a big fan of Lopez’s alleged love for the spotlight, and that it could affect their relationship again, as it did in the early 2000s.

“Ben has gotten very good at biting his tongue, but it’s known that he’s not happy at all about J.Lo’s endless need for attention,” the insider said to OK Magazine. “Ben loves J.Lo dearly, and he knew what he was getting into, to an extent. But his fear is that by putting so much of herself out there, J.Lo’s just opening them up to way too much public scrutiny, and that hasn’t helped their relationship historically — far from it.”

So these insiders are alleging that the new movie has caused a strain, and has reportedly made Affleck worry about his and Lopez’s dynamic. And this claim has some legs behind it because Affleck even said himself to Business Insider that “Things that are private I always felt are sacred and special because, in part, they’re private. So this was something of an adjustment for me,’ referring to the new attention and her publishing his love letters to her.

Many have worried that this could be a big red flag, and thus a hurdle they have to get through. Only time will tell.

Lopez and Affleck were together from 2002 to 2004 after meeting on the set of Gigli. A few years later, they called off their engagement, with one aspect of their romance ending being the constant public attention. But they rekindled their romance in 2021, and they tied the knot a year later.

Since then, they’ve been to numerous red-carpet events together, spent time with their blended families, and worked on Lopez’s new film together. If you need a refresher on the film that’s been talked about for weeks now.
