Angelina Jolie is known for her generous philanthropy, making it no surprise she’s doing what she can to help others amid the series of wildfires devastating Southern California.
The Maria actor opened her home to friends this week after they were forced to evacuate the Los Angeles area, a source tells People. “Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes, or are impacted by the fires,” the source said. “She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate.”

Jolie and her son Knox were spotted stocking up on essentials near their Los Feliz home earlier this week. In a video obtained by The Daily Mail, the two can be seen loading up their car with bottled water and groceries, as the actor mentioned she was hosting people at her house. When asked if she planned to donate toward fire relief efforts, she added: “Yeah, I will, right now I’m taking care of the people close to me and having them at my house.”

Since the scattered wildfires began on Tuesday, as many as 10,000 structures (including homes and offices) have been destroyed by the Palisades fire and Eaton fires happening in Pasadena, per CNN. The blaze is reportedly one of the most destructive in Los Angeles’s history, forcing tens of thousands of residents to evacuate the area, while several thousand others are under an evacuation warning. According to CNN, the fires have displaced more than 80,000 people and resulted in at least 11 deaths.
Jolie is among many celebrities using their platform to help others amid the natural disaster. Paris Hilton, who watched her Malibu home burn to the ground, has donated to local nonprofits while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have volunteered to help evacuees, even hosting some of their displaced friends at their Montecito home.
